Terms of Service

The basics

These terms are an agreement between you and Buy and Save Beauty Supply ("Buy and Save", "we") in Alexandria, Louisiana, which runs StyleKit. By creating an account you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use StyleKit.

Who can use StyleKit

Clients must be at least 13. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. Stylists must be 18 or older. Give accurate information and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

How StyleKit works

• Stylists on StyleKit are independent. They aren't Buy and Save employees, and Buy and Save doesn't perform or guarantee their services.
• When you book, your stylist chooses the hair and products for your style, and Buy and Save prepares that kit for pickup or delivery.
• Your stylist picks the products; the store prices them. You pay your kit total at the store's register, or in the app by card where that city has in-app kit payment turned on. Store purchases follow the store's in-store return policy.

Bookings, deposits and refunds

• Each stylist sets her own prices, deposit, cancellation window, late policy and whether deposits are refundable. You see and agree to that policy before you book.
• Deposits are paid straight to the stylist, either through Cash App or by card in the app (processed by Stripe and paid to the stylist's own Stripe account). StyleKit never holds deposits, so refunds come from the stylist under her policy. Card payments are also subject to Stripe's terms.
• To keep calendars fair, a client can have up to 5 upcoming appointments, one pending request per stylist at a time, and a limited number of new bookings per day. A booking request a stylist doesn't answer within 24 hours expires on its own. The app only offers times inside a stylist's working hours that don't overlap her other appointments.
• Referral credit: when a friend you invite finishes her first appointment booked through StyleKit, she gets the referral credit toward her kit. Credit has no cash value.
• Disagreements about a service are between you and your stylist, but you can report a problem in the app and we'll look into it.

Stylist terms

• You're 18 or older and hold any license or permit Louisiana requires for the services you offer.
• You'll upload a real photo ID for verification. It's deleted after we review your application.
• You set your own prices and policies, perform your services professionally and safely, and are responsible for your own taxes and business.
• Keep your profile, styles, schedule and payment details (your Cash App $cashtag, or your Stripe payout account if you take card deposits) accurate, and honor bookings you accept. If you use card deposits, you agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
• Kit credit, discounts and featured spots are extras Buy and Save offers at its discretion. Credit has no cash value and can be changed or ended.
• Shops: if you join another stylist's shop with her invite code, she can see your bookings and kit orders at that shop (not your private messages). You can leave a shop any time from Business → Shops. If you own a shop, you may only use what you see there to run the shop.
• StyleKit works in more than one city. Your profile, bookings and kits belong to the store for your city, and that store's staff manage your area.
• Only post photos of your own work that you have the right to share, with your client's permission if they can be recognized.

Be respectful

Don't harass anyone, post anything illegal, hateful or sexual, impersonate someone, post fake reviews, spam, or try to break or misuse the app. Reviews must be honest and based on a real appointment.

We can remove content, or suspend or remove any account that breaks these rules or puts people at risk.

Looks and community rules

Clients can post photos of their hair after a finished appointment booked through StyleKit. You must be 18 or older to post. Only post photos of yourself, or of someone who gave you permission, and only real results from that appointment.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. No nudity or sexual content, hate, harassment, threats, violence, spam, fake posts, or content you don't have the right to share. Anyone can report a post or block a user from the post's menu. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or remove the accounts that posted it. Posts with several reports are hidden automatically while we review them.

Stylists can hide a client's post from their own profile. Likes and posts are public to everyone signed in to StyleKit.

Live location

Sharing your live location on the way to an appointment is optional and only shown to your stylist for that booking. It stops when you arrive, when you tap Stop, or 45 minutes after your appointment time. Don't use the app while driving. Check it before you leave or when you're stopped.

Stylists blocking clients

A stylist may block a client from booking with her or joining her waitlist, for example after no-shows or disrespectful behavior. Stylists may not block clients for discriminatory reasons. Appointments already booked stay on the calendar unless cancelled under the stylist's policy.

Your content

You own the photos, messages and reviews you post. You give Buy and Save permission to store and show them inside StyleKit so the app works, for example showing your Looks posts to other users or showing a stylist's portfolio to clients.

Disclaimers

StyleKit is provided "as is". We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Buy and Save isn't responsible for the services stylists provide, or for a stylist's or client's actions. Allergies and sensitivities: tell your stylist before your appointment and check product labels.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Buy and Save isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages from using StyleKit, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Buy and Save in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Louisiana law that can't be waived.

Ending your account

You can delete your account any time from the app. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by Louisiana law, and any dispute will be handled in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app if the change is significant. Using StyleKit after that means you accept the new terms.
